Phytochemical analysis of Iranian Cynomorium songaricum and its antimicrobial activity assessment

چکیده :

This study aimed to evaluate the phytochemical and antimicrobial effects of Cynomorium songaricum crude extract against pathogens on Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Candida albicans, Aspergillus flavus, Trichophyton Mentagrofaits, and Trichophyton rubrum. First, methanol crude extract was prepared. Then, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis was done. The Agar diffusion method was used To assess the antimicrobial effect. The following compounds were identified in the C. Songaricum crude extract: cyanidin 3-O-glucoside, procyanidin dimer, phloridzin, epicatechin, tryptophan, gallic acid, succinic acid, 4-hydroxy benzoic acid, methyl beta-d-fructofuranoside, rhamnose, procyanidin, proanthocyanidin, vanillic acid, and glucose. Positive antibacterial effects were seen against T.rubrum T.menta, S.aures and, E.coli with a MIC of 5.1, 2.0, 6.1, and 9.0 cm, respectively. Also, the extraction efficiency was determined to be 37%. Antibacterial activity of C. Songaricum against T.rubrum T.menta, S.aures and, E.coli was successfully confirmed in this study, which shows its potential use in the pharmaceutical industry.
